Alcide Gautreau, 57, of Pré-d'en-Haut died Monday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital after a brief illness.
 Born in Pré-d'en-Haut, he was a son of the late Anastase and Alvina (Gautreau) Gautreau. A carpenter, he attended Notre Dame de l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dorina Landry ; two daughters, Mrs. Danny LeBlanc (Claire Gautreau) and Miss Lisette Gautreau, both of Rothesay; two sons, Marcel and Roland, both at home; three sisters, Mrs. Elmire LeBlanc and Mrs. George Auffrey (Anita), both of Pré-d'en-Haut, and Mrs. Roméo Léger (Eveline) of Memramcook West; four brothers, Uldege of Moncton, Norman of Dieppe, and Denis and Alban, both of Pré-d'en-Haut; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Anna, and a brother, Laurie, died previously.
The body is at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at Notre Dame de l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut, at 11 p.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
